The symptoms or way we are feeling that cause us to seek out additional help may be caused by a variety of reasons. We believe that finding the root of the symptoms include a integrative approach looking at the physical, mental, spiritual and emotional aspects of each person individually. We will use an integrative approach as we coordinate care with your other providers including therapist, primary care providers and anyone else that is important to your success and recovery!
As an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Nurse Practitioner (NP), we are able to collaborate with you regarding whether medications are appropriate for treatment of your symptoms. If they are, we will discuss risks versus benefits, along with the options that are available to you.
During follow up appointments, we may discuss different strategies to reduce your symptoms and improve your quality of life. This may include education on your symptoms and helpful ways to improve. It also may include therapy or looking at how we are viewing our problems and changing our approaches to them. Research shows that a combination of these methods with medications are better then either alone.
